Lorenzo Dello Iacovo

Lorenzo Dello Iacovo is a Policy and Programme Officer at the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA), where he deals with digital education and HEI partnerships, including European universities alliances. As part of his work, he coordinates the New Mobility Formats thematic peer group and contributes to project-based research on blended and virtual mobility, examining the accessibility, educational value and impact of short-term mobility formats.

Before joining ACA, Lorenzo completed a Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, where he also worked on blended mobility and European cooperation in higher education. He previously worked for the UNITA – Universitas Montium alliance and held teaching and research roles at the University of Turin.

His background combines EU law and higher education policy. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree with a research project on the legal framework governing European university alliances, including the possibility of a dedicated legal status.

Abd Rahim Abu Talib

Professor Abd Rahim Abu Talib serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), since August 2025.  He is a distinguished scholar and leading figure in the field of Aerospace Engineering. Huba was the Director of Nuffic Southern Africa (2020–2024), where she advanced innovative models of collaboration in internationalisation and international development, with a particular focus on partnerships between South Africa, other African countries, and the Netherlands, while also driving the localisation agenda.
Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at Stellenbosch University, including Manager of the Centre for Partnerships and Internationalisation, where she led partnership management, strategy development, and information management.
Beyond her institutional roles, Huba has been deeply engaged in the international higher education community. She served as a Council Member of the International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) and contributed as Editor of StudySA and chair of the IEASA Publications Committee for two years. She currently serves as a Board Member of the African Network for International Education (ANIE).

Uwe Brandenburg holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, an MscEcon from the University of Swansea, and an M.A. in Islamic Sciences from the WWU Münster. He is Managing Director of the Global Impact Institute, held an Assoc.Prof. at the University Rovira I Virgili (2017-2021), and was a guest lecturer at the ESCP Berlin.
