Stella Saliari

Independent Consultant, the Netherlands
Stella Saliari

This is a job share with Marija Mitic.

As a researcher and social justice advocate, I am committed to achieving intersectional justice in higher education by providing support for diversity, equity and inclusion projects. As a relationship builder, I believe we need to create spaces that make us ask what we can do for each other, because our genders, races, sexualities, abilities, socio-economic backgrounds and locations create multiple forms of intersecting hierarchies and inequalities.

I have 10 years of experience in global relationship building in the higher education realm, a teaching background and extensive research and consultancy experience with organisations in both higher education and the not-for-profit sector. I am a board member of the Syrian Female Journalists Network and founder of Salt the Podcast, an intersectional feminist podcast. I studied English and German language and literature at the Technical University of Braunschweig and linguistics at the University of York, and I hold an MSc in Middle East politics from SOAS and an MA in gender studies from Utrecht University.

Against this background, I want to support the Diversity and Inclusion Expert Community in identifying unjust structures and implementing changes in educational and organisational policies to achieve diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in international education.
