The EAIE Barometer: Internationalisation in Europe (first edition) focuses on the state of internationalisation of higher education in Europe. Based on a survey of over 2400 practitioners across the European Higher Education Area, this report analyses key developments and challenges, as well as the skill requirements and specific needs of staff involved in internationalisation.

The EAIE Barometer: Internationalisation in Europe (second edition) maps the form and function of internationalisation of higher education in the European Higher Education Area, as viewed by practitioners working on the process at higher education institutions in Europe. Building on the knowledge gained from the first EAIE Barometer study conducted in spring 2014, this second edition addresses themes covered in the first study as well as several new and contemporary themes in internationalisation, in order to reflect on and better understand the field of international higher education.

How do today's economic realities impact internationalisation? The EAIE Barometer: Internationalisation in Europe (second edition) – Money matters, published in 2019, breaks down the divergent roles of funding as both a driver of and barrier to internationalisation.
