This interactive course led by trainers Margherita Pasquini and Gyöngyi Pozsgai will show you how to maximise the value of your summer school and short-term programmes whilst putting students first in planning and implementation. The course will also help you to present your work to internal stakeholders with confidence.
This training course will equip you to deal with the market challenges of international summer schools and short-term programmes. You will learn to navigate shifting or unclear institutional goals and think more strategically about programme development, longer-term planning and operations. The course structure allows participants some time to discuss their individual experiences and questions. In addition, you will benefit from the worldwide networking of our trainers, who will introduce you to best practices from a variety of institutions.
Compiled by the Summer School EAIE Expert Community, this course will develop your professional expertise in summer schools and short-term education programming and offer networking opportunities with a vibrant community of peers in this increasingly dynamic area. Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy
Margherita Pasquini is the Study Abroad Coordinator at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy. She's been in the field of international higher education for 15 years, primarily responible for university relations management, and short-term program development. She's a Certified Professional and Trainer with the Forum on Education Abroad, a NAFSA Trainer Corps members, and has extensive experience of training and public speaking. She's a passionate advocate for climate action in international higher education and is currently the Europe Chapter President of CANIE- Climate Action Network for International Educators. She also serves as Director of Sustainable Partnerships at Alethea Global Consulting Cooperative. She's been an active member of the EAIE Summer School Community, facilitating conversations at Firecamps, and presenting sessions during the annual conference. She has been collaborating with EAIE for the past 3 years for the #TravelwithCANIE initiative, a project that aims at reducing the carbon emissions linked to conference travel. She has a Bachelor Degree in Moderne Literature, a Master Degree in Modern Philology, and a second Master in Marketing and Communication. She speaks 4 languages fluently.University of Pécs, Hungary
Dr Gyöngyi Pozsgai serves as Head of the Study Abroad and Summer School Office at the University of Pécs. She is responsible for short-term programmes for incoming international students, including summer and winter courses, COIL projects and semester-long programmes.
She is a skilled international education professional with 18 years of experience in internationalisation, marketing and recruitment in higher education. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Pécs with a research specialisation in international higher education marketing. Between 2006–2013 she served as the Secretary-General of the University Network of the European Capitals of Culture.
Dr Pozsgai is a certified trainer with extensive experience in the training and development of international education professionals, including formal training courses, international workshops, conference presentations in international student recruitment, higher education marketing, intercultural sensitivity and the facilitation of summer schools. She has extensive university teaching experience as well.
Her institution was awarded the 2021 EAIE Award for Excellence in Internationalisation for the short-term programmes that her office developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was elected as Steering group member of the Expert Community Summer Schools for the 2022–2024 term.
