Guidelines for a productive and pleasant training

  1. Make sure your Internet connection is stable and use wired internet if possible.

  2. Aim to log into Zoom around 10 minutes before the start of the course, and no later than the offical start time.

  3. Check that your microphone and camera are set up and in working order. In order to ensure a collaborative and friendly atmosphere, please make sure to have your camera turned on at eye level. Ensure you are seated in a well-lit room throughout the event.

  4. Use headphones for a better sound experience and to help prevent echo.

  5. Use a neutral background or make use of a Zoom virtual background if this isn’t feasible.

  6. Keep the chat box function open and make use of this throughout the course to communicate with the trainers and participants.

  7. Allow other attendees to speak without talking over or interrupting them.

  8. Keep your microphone muted when you are not talking to the group as typing sounds and background noises can be distracting to the other participants. Turn off all phone, computer and other sound notifications.

  9. Avoid engaging in side conversations or multitasking, such as checking your inbox, phone or office phone chat during the event.

  10. Remain present throughout the training, stay seated and keep your camera at an angle that you can talk directly at it.
