Uwe Brandenburg

Uwe is Managing Director of the Global Impact Institute and Associate Professor at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Spain. He held the title of Director International at the Brandenburgische Technische Universität in Cottbus, Germany for three years, and at the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin for eight years. Uwe has contributed to more than 30 publications in the field of internationalisation, including End of internationalisation (with Hans de Wit, 2011), the Erasmus impact study (2014 and 2016), and the European voluntary service impact study (2017). He is also the Founding President of the German Association for International Exchange (DAIA). Uwe earned a PhD in Globalisation Studies from the University of Bristol, UK, a Master of Science in Economic and Social Studies from the University of Wales at Swansea, and a Master of Arts from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany. He is a former member of the EAIE General Council and the IAU Advisory Group on Internationalisation. Uwe served as a Steering group member of the Expert Community Strategy and Management from 2020 to 2022.
