Meet the newest members of the EAIE volunteer community
At the EAIE, our work is powered by a vibrant community of volunteers who bring their expertise, perspectives and passion to everything we do. Earlier this year, we invited applications for roles across our Thematic Committees, Conference Programme Committee and EAIE Board.
We were delighted to receive a strong and diverse pool of applications from across the international education community, and we would like to warmly thank everyone who took the time to apply and share their interest in contributing to the EAIE. Following a thorough selection process, we are pleased to introduce the successful candidates who will help shape EAIE activities, strengthen our community and contribute to advancing international education in the years ahead. All newly appointed volunteers will begin their terms in September 2026.
Board
The Board helps shape the Association’s future by setting its strategic direction. Board members are appointed by the General Council, which represents members. We are pleased to announce that Tayyeb Shah has been appointed President and Stephen Orme Vice President until the end of their respective terms. We also welcome Marina Casals Sala, who will join the Board in September following the completion of current EAIE President Sara López Selga’s term.
Conference Programme Committee
We are pleased to welcome three new members to the Conference Programme Committee. Conference Programme Comittee members are appointed by the Board following a review by the current commitee. As part of this group, they will help shape the EAIE Annual Conference programme, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to create a dynamic and relevant experience for our community.

Thematic Committees
This year’s selection process was highly competitive, with over 300 applications reviewed by an independent Candidates Assessment Panel. Applications were assessed blindly against clear expertise criteria, with additional consideration given to ensuring balanced committees across regions, experience levels and areas of expertise. The panel carefully reviewed the composition of each Thematic Committee before final appointments were confirmed by the EAIE Board.
The newly appointed Thematic Committees (TCs) will serve a three-year term from September 2026 to September 2029. In this role, they will guide and shape EAIE content across conferences, publications, training and community activities. As thought partners in their fields, they will identify emerging trends and help design timely, relevant content for the EAIE community. Congratulations to the new Thematic Committee members, listed below in alphabetical order, and sincere thanks to all who expressed interest in serving.
