Maria Gómez Ortueta

Maria Gómez Ortueta is currently the Head of Key Action 2 of Erasmus+ at the Division of Higher Education of the Spanish National Agency. From 2002 to 2013 she was the Director of the International Office at the Universidad de Castilla – La Mancha, Spain. From 2000 to 2002, she was Project Coordinator at the International Office of the Universidad Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, in Madrid, Spain. Maria is responsible for the working group for the internationalisation of Spanish Universities, belonging to the Spanish Rector’s Conference. In 2012, Maria was awarded with a Fulbright-Shuman grant to develop a comparative study about internationalisation of higher education institutions in the US and Europe. In March 2011, she received the Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education from the Institute of International Education in New York City. Maria has studied and trained in various countries (US, Russia, Ireland, Lithuania and Belgium). She was Steering group member of the EAIE Expert Community Internationalisation at Home (IaH).
