Louise Tobin

Louise Tobin is Director of International Student Recruitment and Strategy in University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. As Director, Louise travels extensively to countries that include the US, China, India and the Middle East, where she introduces UCC’s programmes to a wide range of educational stakeholders.
Louise obtained a BA in English and French at UCC where she later obtained a Master’s in French Literature. She also studied in Paris at Université de la Sorbonne, Paris III and L’Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA). She spent one year as an English language tutor at the Université de Rennes 2 while completing her Master’s degree.
Before joining UCC in 1995, Louise worked in the International Division of the Irish Parliament and also spent a ‘stage’ working in the EU Division of the French National Assembly. Louise also enjoys freelance journalism and writes an occasional column for The Irish Herald San Francisco. She is also the Author of UCC: The Cool Guide, an online publication which offers international readers a witty introduction to the many highlights of the UCC campus.
