Katja currently works at the University of Sheffield, UK, as Senior Partnerships and Global Opportunities Manager. She is an international education professional with over 15 years of experience of working in the UK, Finland and the USA. Previously Katja worked at Nottingham Trent University heading the university’s academic partnerships and mobility functions, and the University of Bath where she managed the university's strategic research-led partnership portfolio.
Katja also has experience in managing the executive education and MBA programme portfolios at Leeds University Business School, UK, and strategic MBA programme development at Aalto University School of Business, Finland.
Katja graduated from University of Helsinki in Finland, Loyola University Chicago in the USA, and Chartered Management Institute in the UK, and is currently a Professional Doctorate student at the University of Bath. Her main research interests are comparative higher education, internationalisation of higher education, policy development and assessment, and the intersection of higher education and international development, among others.
