Douglas Washburn

Douglas Washburn is Marketing Manager at the Swedish Institute and part of the Study in Sweden team. He is responsible for the Study in Sweden’s branding and brand ambassadors, and trains Swedish foreign missions in promoting education. Douglas is an experienced international higher education professional with over 13 years of experience. He worked at universities before moving to the Swedish national agency, where he helped develop the Study in Sweden Digital Ambassador programme that is currently in its sixth year. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on Marketing and a Master’s degree in International Business. He has studied Strategic Brand Development at Berghs School of Communication. Douglas regularly shares experiences from his programme with higher education institutions and national agencies and has held training courses on working with student generated content and digital ambassadors for ContentEd and the EAIE. He is also a member of the EAIE Expert Community Marketing and Recruitment.
