Andrea Wehrli

Andrea is a Professor and Lecturer of Law at Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. She has also worked as an independent researcher on multilingualism from a legal-linguistic perspective for more than a decade. Besides her lectures, Andrea participated in international weeks, connecting people and facilitating internationalisation. Her research focus is dedicated to the legal-linguistic challenges of multilingualism in education. Andrea grew up trilingual and lived for several years in the French- and German-speaking parts of Switzerland, as well as in Brazil. With her extensive knowledge and personal experience with the difficulties and pleasures of multilingualism, she is now thrilled to support EAIE members regarding challenges of plurilingual education. She has qualifications as a teacher (with degrees in language teaching, in primary and in higher education), as a linguist in Brazil and Switzerland, and as a lawyer in Switzerland. Andrea was elected as Steering group member of the Expert Community Language and Culture for the 2022–2024 term.
