Spirited IE strategist advancing theory into practice in the MENA region for 20+ years
Amy Fishburn is Director of the Office of International Programmes at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco, and was a Steering group member of the EAIE Expert Community Cooperation for Development. She has a deep commitment to building equitable and mutually beneficial university relations in Africa. Working in the MENA region for more than 30 years, Amy has taught and been in higher education administration for 20+ years. She started the Office of International Programs in 1996. Strong student mobility is the result of an extensive network she built. This complements the other internationalisation activities to 'enhance Morocco and engage the world' in the university’s mission. She serves on several committees including the steering committees for university strategic planning since 2003, the Community Service Board since 2010, and the Association pour le Développement du Moyen Atlas since 2012. Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in literature, and a Master’s of Arts in administration and curriculum from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington.
