Aisling Tiernan

Versatile communicator, creative thinker, dedicated team player.

Aisling Tiernan has been working in the field of internationalisation for over 10 years. She graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) with an international Bachelor’s degree in German and Politics having spent a year in Germany as part of the Erasmus exchange programme. For her Master’s degree, she conducted research on the socio-cultural impact on international students studying abroad. Aisling’s research, together with her career path, engaging with Higher Education stakeholders; institutions, strategic partners and (inter-)national agencies has provided her with in-depth knowledge of the international higher education landscape.

She has worked for Erasmus Students Network (ESN), Educational Testing Service (ETS) and on multiple international and Erasmus+ related projects and partnerships. She worked for Maastricht University, as a Senior Policy Advisor for Internationalisation, where she coordinated the university-wide accreditation project - Certificate for Quality in Internationalisation (CeQuInt). She is currently working as an Independent Education Consultant and served as n EAIE General Council member from 2020 to 2022.
