Ailsa Lamont

Climate literacy is an integral part of internationalisation and of global citizenship.

Ailsa Lamont is the director and founder of Pomegranate Global, a specialist consultancy and program provider focusing on how the climate crisis can be transformed into an opportunity to improve the field of international education. Pomegranate Global helps clients to embed climate action in strategy and to reshape global mobility and international student recruitment operations to reduce their carbon footprint and runs a range of climate action virtual internships.

Her expertise in the sector was gained over 16 years in senior international roles, including as Pro Vice Chancellor International, and International Director at three Australian universities. Prior to that she worked for 10 years in Europe, building partnerships between cities and working in capacity building in Eastern Europe.
Ailsa Lamont has trained with former US Vice President Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader and in 2020-2021 served as a NAFSA Senior Fellow for sustainability. 

She has had the privilege of attending many EAIE conferences and events over the years and has been an international student herself in Germany and Russia.
