Workshops

A workshop is a training experience available to conference participants upon payment of an additional fee. Workshops must provide skills and leave participants with enhanced knowledge, new information and take-aways. Additionally, workshops are a networking opportunity and should therefore be designed to include elements that facilitate this aspect.

Format

Workshops last either half a day (3.5 hours, including one break) or one full day (8 hours, including two breaks and lunch). Conference participants who have pre-registered at an additional fee can participate. For both half-day and full-day workshops, two facilitators will deliver the content and engage the audience throughout. Each facilitator takes the role of both chair and speaker.

Criteria

Workshops must have clearly defined learning outcomes, interactive components, handouts and a well-defined structure. Workshop proposals are assessed by the Expert Communities and Professional Development Committee based on the quality and relevance of the content, the proposed delivery, and their value within the context of the EAIE (eg diversity of subject matters, audience, Expert Community topics, conference theme, etc).
