China’s rise and increased tensions with the West cast a long shadow over academic cooperation. Concerns about engagement with Chinese academia are legitimate and calls for disengagement have become stronger. Can we afford to withdraw from the country that boasts the largest education and R&D systems in the world? This session presents fresh perspectives on the China debate: Should we divest from China and if so, how? Or can we continue our engagement on our own terms?
