Student representatives play a vital role in protecting student rights, being a voice in decision-making and serving as an important link between a university and its students. Nevertheless, the idea of what a student representative is and how students should be involved differs vastly between countries and universities. In this session, two European Universities Initiative alliances – EUGLOH and EUTOPIA – discuss the traps to avoid and some concrete ideas for how to spark student engagement.
