Universities all over the world offer courses in English, with many even offering full programmes. How can higher education institutions do this in a way that is successful and responsible? This interactive workshop will help participants to engage in the development of courses and programmes that are taught in English, within their own contexts. The topics to be covered include: providing support for teaching staff and students; taking a strategic approach to the teaching of English; the internationalisation of the curriculum; and ensuring quality. Participants will be invited to reflect on strategic choices and support practices around English Medium Instruction (EMI) in a non-English speaking environment.
