Session 09.08

Universities and non-governmental organisations: natural partners?

The missions of universities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in today's globalised society seem to be ever more closely aligned. At first glance it seems they could achieve many things by working more closely together. Using two real life NGO examples (SPARK and APOPO’s HeroRATs, which both have strong ties with universities), this session will explore the benefits of partnerships between universities and NGOs, but also the challenges and potential pitfalls.
