Leonard van der Hout

Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands

Leonard van der Hout works as senior adviser on internationalisation at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and has been working for more than 25 years in the field of internationalisation of higher education. He has a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Since 2004 he has been working as a Bologna Expert, promoting and supporting universities in implementing the Bologna process. He gives presentations on both subjects at conferences, seminars and workshops. More than 10 years ago he realised that being a policy adviser was not enough to get educational change rolled out in the university. Thus, he started focusing more on getting the ideas generated throughout the university supported and implemented. That means discovering what the university, the faculties and the departments really need in order to trigger real change. He is also a certified process consultant.
