Jan Geerts

Internationally orientated matchmaker who aims to build, expand and share networks for mutual benefits.

Jan joined the EAIE in 2015 and is a Steering group member in the Expert Community Alumni Relations. An alumnus of the European studies Master’s programme at the University of Amsterdam, Jan has also studied alumni relations, fundraising and communications and has worked as a communication adviser at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS; De Haagse Hogeschool, HHS) in the Netherlands from 2006 to 2013. At that point, he took his current position as Adviser Alumni Relations, the first such position at a Dutch university at the time of his appointment. Jan is responsible for the Alumni Office and implementing the school’s institution-wide alumni policy. He is an experienced conference speaker in the Netherlands and loves to share his expertise with other higher education institutions. Jan has also been involved in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) as a member of the CASE Lowlands planning committee since 2012 and chair of the 2014 CASE Lowlands conference in The Hague. Before he started working for THUAS, he worked in the internet sector, where he gained considerable experience in social media strategies and online marketing.
