Anglo-American University, founded in 1990 as the first private institution of higher education in the Czech Republic, is a small, international university located in the heart of Prague's Malá Strana. With accreditation in both the Czech Republic and the USA, the university prides itself on a distinctive, personalised approach to teaching that emphasises interactive classes and developing critical and creative thinking. Anglo-American University’s BA, MA and MBA programmes cover the fields of Business, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Art, International Relations and Journalism, and are taught entirely in English. The university regularly hosts students from 45+ partner universities, who join their degree-seeking students to make up an unusually diverse community of 900 people from more than 70 countries. Situated in the beautiful Thurn-und-Taxis palace, next door to Vojanovy Sady – a city park founded in the 13th Century, with its own lake, a chapel and peacocks – the campus is unique in the Czech Republic.

Anglo-American University was shortlisted for the EAIE Institutional Award for Innovation in Internationalisation for its approach to educational practices, which allowed the institution to differentiate itself and find a niche market in the Czech Republic.
