Session 08C
Enhancing the intercultural competence of international students at host institutions
- On demand
- Virtual
- Related Expert Communities Language and Culture
Study abroad programmes and international students play a major role in internationalisation efforts in higher education. International students, however, do not automatically develop their intercultural understanding by simple exposure to a different culture. Interventions from host universities, embedded in study abroad programmes, are needed to improve students’ intercultural competence. This session will focus on the various initiatives and policies that host universities can implement.
