Building on from the popular Online Academy course ‘Launching virtual exchange at your institution’, this new training instalment moves the learning from “why” to “how”.
Experienced EAIE trainers Eva Haug and Thierry Villard will provide an introduction to curriculum interventions, specifically Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), by exploring the challenges and opportunities of collaborative student work. The course will delve into developmental phases of the specific VE curriculum design, looking at discovering, applying, and reflecting.
If you have the institutional buy-in to launch VE, this hands-on course will provide insight into the practicalities of designing and implementing new projects. The course will equip those involved in curriculum design and teaching with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets they need to develop interdisciplinary and intercultural projects with partners abroad.
During this course, inspiration will be provided by practitioners in the field, and you’ll hear about best practices in Europe, Latin America and Africa and other parts of the world. We will cover the technology for online international collaboration and constraints and opportunities for technology-supported collaboration. At the end of this course, you will have a step-by-step plan and the resources to develop your VE project idea with an international partner.
This course is ideal for those directly connected to and involved in curriculum design and teaching, such as lecturers, academics, curriculum designers, instructional designers and more.
