Session 06.11

Don’t design in the dark: Using evidence-based practice to create COIL courses

The design of Collaborative Online International Learning projects is often not informed by evidence-based practice or empirical research, which means educators sometimes make uninformed decisions. This can result in sub-optimal COIL experiences for students. In this interactive session, we will explore how COIL can be designed using knowledge and research from the field, and we will collaborate to design the optimal COIL experience combining research and practical experience.
