Leveraging the benefits of the international classroom: from experience to expertise

Delivering global-ready graduates to society is a key desired outcome of higher education institutions the world over. However, most universities face challenges transforming the experience of the international classroom to a learning environment that leads to global and intercultural learning. Further professional development of academic staff is needed in order to leverage the added value of the international classroom. In this workshop, participants will critically engage with the following topics: teaching and learning in the international classroom; internationalising course design; intercultural group dynamics to enhance intercultural development and global learning; and feedback and reflective processes.

Learning outcomes

After this workshop participants:
Understand the key challenges and opportunities for teaching and learning in the international classroom;
Have gained new ideas and shared experiences on the key topics involved when working towards internationalizing their program, course or module;
Are inspired to further internationalize their program, course of module.
