Laura Howard

Laura is currently a lecturer at the University of Cadiz (UCA), Spain, and has served as President of the EAIE (2014–2016). She holds a degree in modern languages (translating and interpreting) from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, and completed Master’s-level studies in language acquisition at UCA. Laura has 15 years’ experience in international relations management and has held several posts at UCA including director of European projects, director of international relations and general director of external promotion. On a national level, she chaired the Commission for International Promotion created within the International Relations Commission of the Spanish Rectors’ Conference from 2008 until 2010 and was part of the initial advisory committee to Universidad.es, a public-sector foundation for the international promotion of Spanish universities. Laura was Vice-President of the Compostela Group of Universities from 2007 to 2015 and is one of the authors of the recently published (2015) report Internationalisation of Higher Education prepared for the European Parliament.
