Hans-Werner Rückert

Hans-Werner is Director of the academic advising and counselling centre at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. He is currently serving his second term as Chair of the EAIE Expert Community Guidance and Counselling. He received a degree in psychology, went on to become an Associate Fellow of the Albert-Ellis-Institute for Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy in New York and completed his training as a psychoanalyst in 1989. Hans-Werner now works in private practice as well as in university and is also a lecturer, supervisor and training analyst. He has published extensively on counselling and psychotherapy for students, qualifications and training of counsellors, the implementation of the Bologna Process in Germany, and – as a matter of special research interest – procrastination. He was president of the European Forum on Student Guidance (Forum Européen de l’Orientation Académique – FEDORA) from 2010 to 2012.
