Blog guidelines

The EAIE Blog sheds light on the latest trends and developments in international higher education.

How it works

Do you have insights worth sharing? Your perspective could help shape the conversation. The EAIE Blog sheds light on the latest trends and developments in international higher education. Our blog is open access and welcomes submissions from both members and non-members. Explore how your article can go from idea to publication:

  • Draft and submit: Write a blog on a relevant topic and submit it at any time throughout the year. Blog submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis (there is no set deadline for submissions).

  • Schedule and edit: We will work with you to edit the post and schedule it for publication based on our content calendar, EAIE activities and relevance to current events.

  • Publish: Your blog goes live on our website and is shared with our international community.

Guidelines

  • Write for the sector: Blog articles should cover topics in international higher education and will usually correspond to a category listed in the EAIE Taxonomy.

  • Submit anytime: Blog submissions can be sent at any time as blogs are published year-round. You can also always email us to discuss an idea for a blog or get advice on how to approach and structure your article.

  • Ahere to the world limit: There is no strict word limit for the EAIE Blog, but pieces are typically between 500 and 1500 words in length. A narrow angle with a specific focus and concrete takeaways is key.

  • Don't promote your product/service: Submissions that explicitly promote a particular product or service or profile a specific institution or programme without a clear, actionable takeaway for practitioners will not be accepted.

  • Stay conversational: The EAIE Blog is neither a scholarly journal nor a personal blog, but a space for colleagues to share experiences and expertise. Articles should be neither highly formal nor highly informal but somewhere in between.

  • Use inclusive language: EAIE Blog readers come from a variety of countries and language backgrounds. Blog articles should be written in a way that is accessible to this diverse international audience.

  • Share practical insight: The EAIE Blog is geared towards practitioners and professionals. Blog articles typically share best practices, how-tos, institutional experiences, and other actionable insights that help practitioners in their day-to-day work of internationalisation.

Blog articles should be written in British English and submitted in a .doc or plain text format. Any suggested images, videos or polls for inclusion may be included as attachments.
