Join fellow EAIE members for a collaborative Learning Circle conversation on what it means to work between research and practice.
EAIE Learning Circles are an ongoing series of virtual meetings designed to foster peer‑to‑peer learning and open conversation around shared challenges, themes and professional roles. Each meeting focuses on a different topic, offering members a welcoming space to connect, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. In this session, we will explore the realities of life as a scholar-practitioner, focusing on how to navigate the space between research and practice and thrive in this unique, dual identity.
These 45-minute meetings are kept small to encourage meaningful, participant‑driven discussion. This format puts you at the centre, where everyone is welcome to exchange experiences, challenges and ideas with fellow members facing similar day‑to‑day realities. Unlike a webinar, there’s no formal presentation—just an open conversation. A discussion chair helps guide the flow and ensure everyone has room to contribute. These sessions are exclusive to EAIE members and free to join.

In this Learning circle, we’ll discuss the unique and at times lonely experience of navigating the space between research and practice. Whether or not you already identify as a scholar-practitioner, this is a safe space to explore the sacrifices, rewards, and opportunities inherent in our hybrid roles. We invite current hybrid professionals—as well as those interested in adopting this dual identity, such as practitioners considering research or a PhD to join the conversation. This is an open forum to share your experiences and best practices, or simply to ask questions about how this unique role functions within international higher education.
You may share the information discussed outside the meeting, but not the identity of the person who said it or the organisation involved. This ensures a safe space for open and honest dialogue. The session will not be recorded.
