How can green spaces help us connect with nature, each other and climate action?

Join this social outreach activity at Hidden Gardens, a community green space focused on wellbeing, biodiversity and environmental justice. Over 2–3 hours, you’ll take part in an outdoor guided tour with a gentle wellbeing activity, followed by an indoor session on how green spaces can support learning, participation and climate action.

The experience includes a welcome, closing reflection, herbal tea, healthy snacks and a lunch box.

This activity requires pre-registration. Your ticket will be printed on your conference badge, so please bring it with you. Registration fees from this activity will be donated to Hidden Gardens to support their work.

Getting there: EAIE shuttle buses will depart from the SEC conference centre and bring you back to the venue after the activity.

Help care for Glasgow’s waterfront, one litter pick at a time.

Join this 2–3 hour social outreach activity along the River Kelvin and River Clyde. Starting at the Riverside Museum, you’ll help clean the riverside paths while enjoying Glasgow’s waterside views. The route continues towards the Govan Footbridge, with an optional crossing to Govan Old Church to see the historic hogback stones and hear about their history.

The activity ends at Govan Bridge. Small refreshments will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes (boots, rain poncho, sun hat). This activity requires pre-registration and includes litter picking tools. Your ticket will be printed on your conference badge, so please bring it with you.

Meeting point: Participants will meet at the designated Meeting Point (Registration area, Hall 1, SEC Centre, Ground floor) to start the activity.

Begin your journey round Scotland at the largest networking event of the week!

Join fellow participants at the OVO Hydro for an evening of Scottish hospitality, lively conversation and a warm EAIE welcome. This year's Opening Reception brings a taste of Scotland’s culture, atmosphere and spirit to one of Glasgow’s most iconic venues.

The OVO Hydro is within walking distance of the SEC and is wheelchair accessible. Two food tickets and two drink tickets per person are included in the registration fee, and cash bars will also be open during the event.

Please bring your conference badge with you. Your ticket will be printed on your badge and is required for entry. This event is partly funded by the City of Glasgow.

Join this gentle morning yoga session led by a professional instructor at Nuffield Health Glasgow Central Fitness and Wellbeing Gym, just a 5-minute walk from the SEC. Mats, blocks and water will be provided, along with towels and basic toiletries for anyone who would like to use the shower facilities afterwards. Dressing rooms with lockers are also available.

Please bring light workout clothes. For the best yoga experience, we recommend practising barefoot.

Start your day on the move with a city-inspired run through Glasgow.

Join fellow participants for an energising morning run led by professional running coaches and tailored to suit all running levels. The approximately 5 km route will include stops at well-known Glasgow landmarks, combining a light workout with a chance to discover more of the city.

Start your day with an upbeat Scottish workout rooted in tradition.

Led by two Highland Dancing instructors, this beginner-friendly session introduces you to the energy and rhythm of Highland dancing. Traditionally performed to bagpipe music, Highland dancing is known for its athletic, precise movements and deep Scottish heritage. This morning workout brings a more accessible twist, combining cardio, upbeat music and simple dance steps suitable for all fitness levels. No prior experience is needed.

Please wear comfortable workout clothes and sport shoes. A towel and water will be provided. Showers and dressing rooms are available upon request.

Do you have an ear for music and love to sing? Then, you're invited to join the EAIE Choir. Whether you’re a bass, tenor, alto, soprano or something in between, you can enjoy a change of pace during the busy conference week and take inspiration from the local musical heritage. Rehearsals will be held on Thursday from 12:45–13:45 and 17:00–18:00, as well as on Friday from 10:30–11:15, before the big performance on stage during the Closing Plenary on Friday afternoon.
