Peter Kerrigan

International educator with experience in communications, marketing, strategic development, programme design/implementation, training and partnerships.

Peter R. Kerrigan is the Deputy Director of the German Academic Exchange Service’s (DAAD) Regional Office in New York and is the Director of Marketing and Outreach for DAAD in North America. He is responsible for all areas of the marketing of German higher education and research and DAAD’s scholarship programmes in the U.S. and Canada. Peter served as Vice President of Membership Development and Services at The Forum on Education Abroad, Assistant Director of the Higher Education Resource Group at the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Senior Program Coordinator in the Work Abroad Division of the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).

He currently serves as Chair on the EAIE Expert Community Inclusion and Diversity. He was Chair of the EAIE’s Professional Development Committee, a Resource Person for the EAIE Expert Community Marketing and Recruitment and a member of the EAIE General Council. He also served for many years as a member of the Standards Committee of The Forum on Education Abroad. In September 2016, Peter received the EAIE’s Transatlantic Leadership Award. Since 2000, Peter has volunteered weekly for God’s Love We Deliver, a provider of meals to people who are too ill to cook for themselves. Peter was awarded an M.A. in Political Science by the Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany and a B.A. in Political Science and German by Bates College, Maine, USA.
