Gabriele is a recently retired Professor of English and Intercultural Communication at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Additionally, she has served as Director of International Relations and Vice Rector for Teaching and Internationalisation. In these roles, she was responsible for the institutional internationalisation strategy and its implementation in cooperation with the faculties. She has extensive university teaching and presentation experience locally and abroad, and has coordinated ‘SKILL2E’, the EU-funded university-enterprise cooperation project, with 12 partners from 7 countries, focusing on intercultural competence acquisition in transnational placements. As one of the Austrian national experts on the Bologna Process (now EHEA) since 2009, she has advised universities as well as co-organised and facilitated training and information events on all aspects of internationalisation and the Bologna Process. Her experiences as an academic and consultant and in university management have helped her understand and involve the perspectives of all stakeholders. Gabriele served as a member of the EAIE General Council for the 2020–2022 term.
