Beyza Ünal

Part-time clinical psychologist, part-time lecturer, full-time activist.

Beyza Ünal is a clinical psychologist and currently works as a lecturer at the Department of Psychology, TED University, Ankara, Turkey. Beyza was awarded a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Middle East Technical University, Ankara,Turkey in February 2018 with her dissertation on the formation of disability identity. Beyza started to volunteer in the field of disability during her undergraduate education by joining a student club run by disabled students for disabled students at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. She also volunteered at the Association of Women with Disabilities, which has helped her improve her knowledge and understanding of intersectionality. After her involvement with the European Network on Independent Living, she has become active in international disability-rights activism with a specific focus on inclusion, Independent Living, identity, intersectionality and inclusive higher education.
She is an Associate in the EAIE Expert Community Inclusion and Diversity.
