European universities are at the forefront of efforts to support researchers who have been displaced because of threats to their life, liberty or careers. Many institutions cite their values as the key rationale for their support, but institutions have a great deal to gain by being hosts in terms of the internationalisation of their learning and teaching. This session will explore these benefits, assess challenges and examine how to boost institutional capacity to support researchers at risk.
