Connecting data: Pooling resources for strategic planning
- Tuesday 26 Sept
13:30-17:00 - Dock 1A, Level 1, Rotterdam Ahoy
- Level: Intermediate
- €209 (€319 for non-members)
Student mobility data exists on many levels and in many forms, in a much more fragmented manner than we tend to think. The abundance of mobility data does not automatically translate into usable indicators for policymakers on supranational, national or institutional levels. This workshop aims to stimulate a discussion on the availability, comparability, accessibility and quality of student mobility data, as well as the benefits and challenges in connecting data for strategic planning. This will be followed by a hands-on exercise in which you must map and fill data gaps for a specific scenario.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to:
- identify a wide range of mobility-related data for researchers and practitioners;
- apply the available data in a specific scenario and assess its fitness for an identified purpose;
- identify and find solutions to bridge data gaps through collaborative exercises and networking of data users.
This workshop is targeted at decision-makers involved in shaping institutional, national or supranational strategies of student mobility; data collectors and data providers interested in gaining insights into user expectations and user experiences; academic and policy researchers interested in studying international mobility flows.
