Aoyama Gakuin University - Professor

Eriko Katsumata is a Professor in the Department of International Communication, School of International Politics, Economics and Communication (SIPEC) at Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan. She previously headed SIPEC’s study abroad advising office. She earned her Ph.D. in Education from Claremont Graduate University and San Diego State University. Her research focuses on intercultural communication, active learning, COIL, and intercultural training. Eriko served on SIETAR Japan’s Steering Committee and was Vice President. She is also a project leader for iEARN, focusing on peace and environmental education. She has published several books in both English and Japanese on intercultural training.
