Introduction 

The  Office for International Relations (DGD RI) drives and coordinates Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) global outreach, in close collaboration with the President’s Office, associated departments, and academic units.


It develops strategic partnerships that are crucial for UGA’s future. It supports faculty and researchers in designing and implementing international projects in recognized and highly promising research fields, promotes mobility for as many people as possible, while fostering an inclusive and responsible culture.


Backed by committed teams and an extensive network, the DGD RI helps enhance UGA’s international experience and strengthen the university’s appeal to international partners, students, and staff.

Main Responsibilities

Under the authority of the Head of the Delegations, Fairs, Events, and Networks Unit within the Directorate for International Public Reception and Outreach, the Alumni Project Officer will work as part of a team of four.

In line with the strategic plan, which also aims to promote UGA’s international attractiveness and influence, the role will involve developing, animating, and structuring the international Alumni network, in collaboration with the Student Life Directorate.

Key Activities

Development and Structuring of the International Alumni Network

  • Structure international communities according to different types of Alumni, based on the objectives set by the governance and operational goals
  • Update and enrich the international Alumni databases
  • Bring together UGA’s various units around a shared “Alumni” project

Community Engagement and Animation

  • Design and implement engagement activities for international Alumni
  • Encourage Alumni involvement in institutional projects (testimonials, recruitment, partnerships, mentoring campaigns), and support sustainable and operational structuring
  • Identify and implement possible interactions between international Alumni and current UGA students

Communication and International Outreach

  • Contribute to defining and implementing the international Alumni communication strategy
  • Help create informational and promotional materials
  • Present and promote the UGA Alumni network to consulates/embassies and institutional partners
  • Promote the network to students and graduates
  • Develop initiatives to showcase the careers of international Alumni

Activity Monitoring and Administrative Management

  • Define performance indicators, monitor them, and produce activity reports
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Alumni actions and tools

Assist the Head and the team in the missions of the Events and Delegations Unit as needed

  • Knowledge of the functioning of Higher Education and Research
  • Strong project management and monitoring skills
