The fixed-term employment is scheduled to begin at the earliest possible date and limited until 31 December 2028 (with the possibility of extension depending on future funding). It is a 50% part-time position with the possibility to increase to 75% during the project (subject to availability of funding).
In cases of equal qualification, applicants with severe disabilities or those with equivalent status will be given preferential consideration in accordance with the German Social Code, Book IX (SGB IX).
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for financial management, controlling, budget planning, procurement, and contract administration for the alliance
Supporting alliance management in the preparation of financial reports for the European Commission, as well as resource planning and monitoring of the current Erasmus+ project budget
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, tax laws, and both internal and EU guidelines
Coordinating the transfer of funds to partner universities and monitoring their expenditures for compliance with the grant agreement
Monitoring the alliance budget, analysing operating costs and workflows, and providing strategic recommendations for improving efficiency
Defining and monitoring financial KPIs and developing strategies to enhance the alliance's performance
Handling financial matters such as invoicing and ordering
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field; additional qualifications or professional certification are an advantage
Proven experience in budget management and knowledge of national and EU regulations (e.g., Erasmus+, Horizon grant agreements) preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and reporting
Strong communication skills, service orientation, flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to clearly interpret and present financial data
Proficiency in modern digital tools, especially Microsoft Office, cloud-based document storage, project management tools, and financial software
Experience in the higher education sector and with EU funds is an asset
Enjoy working in an international environment and with diverse cultures in distributed teams; excellent
German and English skills (at least C1 level)
