Not every career comes with a roadmap. Join Fiona Hunter as she explores how values, curiosity and a willingness to embrace uncertainty can help you navigate opportunities and make your mark in international education.
Careers in international education rarely follow a clearly marked route. Opportunities emerge unexpectedly, institutions change direction, and the role you have today may look very different from the one you imagined when you first started out.
In this Meet the Expert webinar, Fiona Hunter will reflect on what it means to build a meaningful career in a field where uncertainty is often the norm. Drawing on her own experiences, she will explore how to recognise opportunities, embrace change and make your mark without having every step mapped out in advance.
Fiona will discuss the role that values and principles can play when the path ahead is unclear, and how curiosity, courage and a willingness to experiment can open unexpected possibilities. She will also share insights on finding the relationships, projects and opportunities that let us shape our institutions and create positive change, even when progress feels slow, or the direction isn’t always clear.
There will be plenty of time for Q&A, along with an optional breakout session at the end where participants can connect with fellow EAIE members. Whether you’re just starting out or considering your next career move, this is a chance to learn from an experienced leader and gain practical insights for navigating your own journey in international higher education.
