Jessica Sandblom

Each year, Linköping University Summer Academy – at which international students from partner universities spend a month in Linköping, Sweden – purchases pillows, towels and bedding for the participants. In previous years, hundreds of products went to a recycling station after the participants left. In 2022, a sustainability initiative called the Pillow Project was initiated, with the aim of reusing everything and creating starter kits that new students can buy for an affordable sum.

Jessica Sandblom is the Senior International Coordinator and Project Manager for the LiU Summer Academy, Linköping University’s international summer program for exchange students. She is responsible for both strategic planning and daily operations, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for participants from around the world.
In addition to the Summer Academy, Jessica works with LiU’s Internationalisation at Home initiatives. These initiatives aim to create global perspectives and intercultural opportunities on campus and give staff and students the chance to gain international experience and intercultural skills without having to leave Sweden.
Before joining LiU, Jessica worked professionally within ESF-funded projects at the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), supporting newly arrived migrants and their integration into education and the labor market. This experience informs her inclusive approach to international education.
Justyna Jonsson is a Coordinator and Team Leader with responsibility for the Erasmus+ programme at LiU. She is responsible for LiU’s overall participation in the Erasmus+ programme and serves as the university’s main contact with the Swedish Council for Higher Education. Justyna is in charge of the mobility component within Erasmus+, including coordination of framework applications, reporting, and budget work. She also disseminates information about the programme and represents LiU in both local and national Erasmus+ networks. In close collaboration with faculties and departments, she works to develop international mobility and cooperation in line with the Erasmus+ framework. Her role also includes staying informed about developments at the local, national, and European levels, and supporting the implementation of the programme’s commitments and priorities.
In her role as team leader, she contributes to the strategic development of operations together with the Director of Internationalisation, the Unit Manager, and the team. She acts as a link between the Unit Manager and the team and is part of the unit’s management group.
