Ricardo J. Sagrera, member of the EUNICoast Alliance at the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), holds the role of Local Coordinator. 
Within the EUNICoast Alliance, the University is responsible for WP2 - Education Commission.

Angela Ballone

University of Sassari, Italy

As a team member of the EUNICoast office at the University of Sassari (Sardinia, Italy), Dr. Ballone brings in a deep understanding of the challenges facing non-metropolitan universities. Her experience as a researcher and university teacher worldwide for over ten years has brought her to doing research on the Early Modern period of the Spanish Empire, and to live and work in different countries (both in Europe and worldwide). From 2022, she has been working in coordinating Erasmus mobilities in the University of Sassari, adding to that her activity as a an administrative officer within the University Alliance EUNICoast - The European University of islands, ports and coastal territories. In her work, she provides interesting insights to animating the debate about challenges regarding internationalisation for participants (students and staff) and participants to the Alliance's activities. Dr. Ballone's facilitation expertise ensures a productive tension between provocation and collaboration in this session designed through the fishbowl formats, essential for communicating more broadly to a diversified audience.

Magdalene Weber

Hochschule Stralsund - University of Applied Sciences, Germany

Magdalene Weber is Head of the International Office at Hochschule Stralsund – University of Applied Sciences (HOST) in Germany, where she leads the university's internationalisation strategy and international marketing. She also serves as HOST's Local Coordinator for EUNICoast – The European University Alliance of Islands, Ports and Coastal Territories, where she co-leads Work Package 5 (Internationalisation and Mobility) and contributes to the alliance's work on impact, dissemination and communication.

Since 2021, Magdalene has driven HOST's internationalisation agenda. A particular focus of her current work is Internationalisation@Home as a strategy for peripheral, coastal and island institutions, a theme she explores through EUNICoast and, at EAIE 2026, as chair of a fishbowl session on the subject.

Her expertise lies at the intersection of internationalisation strategy, European university alliance coordination, international marketing, and higher education project management. Before entering the higher education sector, she built a career in editorial and communications leadership.

Magdalene holds a Magistra Artium in Sociology, Psychology and Media Studies from the University of Potsdam. True to the title of her EAIE session, she has spent her career finding the beat in unlikely places – from newsrooms in Berlin to a port city on Germany's Baltic coast.
