Karen Krug is a Senior Research and Knowledge Evaluator at Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE) in the United States. She has worked there for 15 years and has been an evaluator for 13 years. Prior to working at ECE, she taught English in China, and before that, in Japan. She has a degree in interpersonal communication from the USA and a diploma in creative writing from New Zealand. Her areas of specialization in credential evaluation include East Asia, Latin America, British-based systems, and former Soviet countries, as well as broader topics such as academic accreditation/recognition and electronic verification of educational documents. She is a member of The Association for Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP), where she served for several years on their committee for membership outreach and engagement. She has presented sessions and webinars on various topics related to international education both within the US and internationally, including at conferences for NAFSA, AACRAO, TAICEP, EducationUSA, and the EAIE.
