Collaboration between international offices and faculties is vital for successful internationalisation, yet it often stumbles over communication gaps, unclear roles and different priorities. This session will encourage you to exchange real-life experiences, uncover friction points and co-create practical ways to strengthen communication and alignment. Together, we'll explore how small shifts in dialogue and cooperation can make collaboration truly flow across institutional levels.
Saskia Asmus is International Coordinator and Head of the International Office at the Faculty of Language and Literature at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her work focuses on international student mobility, Erasmus+ programme management, academic partnerships and the development of practical structures that support internationalisation at faculty level.
She has many years of experience in international higher education, working with both incoming and outgoing students as well as academic and administrative colleagues across Europe and beyond. Her particular areas of expertise include Erasmus+ mobility, recognition, international partnerships, communication between central international offices and faculties, and the internationalisation of teacher education.
Saskia is also involved in professional exchange and networking within the European higher education community. She has contributed to Erasmus+ and DAAD activities as an expert, with a particular focus on internationalising teacher education and sustainability in student mobility. She regularly participates in international conferences, workshops and peer-learning formats, including the EAIE, and has previously contributed to sessions on international student mobility and cooperation between different levels of university administration.
