Aslı Ilgıt is a Professor of Political Science and International Relations, specializing in international security, migration, politics of identity and emotions. She also serves as a member of the Academic Board for the International Office at Çukurova University and as a member of the Steering Committee of EUPeace Alliance. She has completed her MA in International Relations and her PhD in Political Science, both at Syracuse University, USA. Prior to coming to Çukurova University, she has worked as an Assistant Professor at Gustavus Adolphus College in MN, USA and taught as a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University's McGhee Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies. At Çukurova, she has served as the Department Chair, the Head of the International Office and as a member of the University Senate and the Quality Assurance Board.
