Campfire session
This session aims to engage the participants in a discussion about institutional policies that we can influence or use to widen access to international opportunities. The three speakers will present a short description of how this has been achieved in their organisations to ignite a discussion amongst participants on specific areas where there might be potential for improvement, share best practices and differences and take away some ideas for future development.

Research on internationalisation Student and staff mobility
Alejandra has been working in international education for more than 20 years and is currently Head of International Mobility at Northumbria University, where she manages all aspects of international mobility programmes for students and staff, funding and partner relations.
Originally from Chile, she is passionate about internationalising higher education and based her postgraduate research on this topic in a development context. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Chile and a Master’s in international development from Northumbria. Alejandra's expertise lies in various aspects of international mobility and partnerships, including risk management, inclusive mobility, funded projects, strategy and diversifying leadership in higher education. Ale is currently a member of Northumbria University's Strategy Advisory Board.
She has been involved with the EAIE since 2014 as a session evaluator, and an EAIE mentor for the last 5 years. Alejandra was elected as Chair of the Expert Community Mobility Advising for the 2022–2024 term and is currently the Chair of the Student and Staff Mobility Thematic Committee. She was also Co-Chair of the UUKi's Risk Management Group.
