This session will explore how to enhance Erasmus+ student mobility for traineeships in the context of the Union of Skills, with insights from the European Commission and two key stakeholders. We will engage in group discussions to provide feedback on the current and prospective Erasmus+ programme for 2028–2034, aiming to improve the experience for students and institutions alike.
Oana-Roxana IVAN-HOROBEȚ is a senior lecturer at the West University of Timisoara (WUT), teaching English and/or Spanish as a second language to students for more than 15 years. Since 2013, she has been in charge of coordinating the implementation of the Erasmus programme at WUT, currently holding the position of Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator and Head of Division for European Cooperation - Erasmus+ & UNITA within the Department for International Relations. With a career of over 10 years in the internationalization of higher education, her interest and commitment to the institutional processes for internationalization (at home and abroad) has been highlighted through the management of international mobility projects and the coordination of international collaboration initiatives, as well as through the active involvement in the implementation of the European University Alliance, UNITA Universitas Montium, that WUT is a founding member of since 2020, having the role as co-leader of the task dedicated to ensuring seamless mobility within the alliance.
Albert Sesé Ballart is DG EAC’s Head of Sector for the Erasmus+ Programme team in the Higher Education Unit since January 2026. Prior to this, he was the inter-institutional relations coordinator as well as responsible for policies with the Western Balkans at the same DG. He holds a degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Social and Public Policy, bringing extensive expertise in EU policy development, programme implementation, and inter-institutional dialogue. In his role, he engages with Member States, national agencies, and higher education stakeholders to advance European mobility and internationalisation objectives within higher education.
Sabri Ben Rommane is a Project Officer at ESN. He has a BA in Languages and Cultures and a double-degree MA in Global Politics and Euro-Mediterranean Relations from the University of Catania (Italy) and Liège (Belgium). Sabri has been working on EU projects for over six years, with a focus on project management, including communication, campaigns, and project cycle management in both development cooperation projects and EU-based initiatives. He has experience managing a wide range of audiences, stakeholders, and beneficiaries, as well as expertise in fundraising, training, and the strategic aspects of EU projects. Sabri’s background also includes deep knowledge of various project management methodologies (PM2) and communication techniques and tools.
