Martine Wierenga

Martine Wierenga is Director of the International Office at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Prior to joining Erasmus University, she developed and managed a series of successful summer schools in the field of international law and human rights, managed global partnerships, and coordinated several Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programmes at Leiden University.
In her role at Erasmus University Rotterdam Martine manages the teams that are dedicated to international admissions and immigration, the soft landing of international students, communication and events, international partnerships, and scholarships programmes, including the KA131 and KA171 Erasmus+ programmes. Martine plays an active role in promoting student and staff exchange within the European University Alliance UNIC and enjoys contributing to projects and events initiated by the European University Foundation. She is Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Rotterdam and member of the Board of Directors of the A.A. Van Beek Foundation, which provides scholarships to Erasmus University students who do not have the means to go abroad in the framework of their study. She is keen on enhancing student wellbeing, green and inclusive student and staff mobility, and is involved in developing and implementing international crisis management protocols and processes at Erasmus University.
