Naveed Syed

ENHANCE Alliance, Germany

Naveed Syed is the Secretary General of the ENHANCE Alliance, a European
association of ten excellent and research-intensive universities of technology.
ENHANCE drives transformation in education, innovation and research for the benefit of society.

Naveed is also the Co-Lead Communications for FOREU4ALL, a network of 65
European Universities Alliances, which brings together more than 500 higher
education institutions.

Previously, Naveed worked as the Head of Global Networks for the Falling Walls Foundation, developing a global community for visionaries, decision-makers and emerging talents from academia, industry and policymaking.

He gives talks on the importance of transnational collaboration and science
communication. He has been part of evaluation committees for the German Scholars Organization, the University: Futures Festival, is a Member of the Advisory Board for Falling Walls ENGAGE, and is a Wertebotschafter for German Dream. Above all, he is a passionate collaboration catalyst.

Ioana Dewandeler

European Commission, Belgium

Ioana Dewandeler is a Policy Officer for Higher Education in the  European Commission's Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture where she is coordinating the policy dimension of the European Universities initiative. Ioana has over 17 years prior experience in various positions within the European Commission in the fields of higher education policy, strategic coordination of the Erasmus+ programme, research and innovation project and policy management in the social sciences and humanities, and in the socio-economic dimension of transport research policies.
She studied economic and social public administration and EU law and litigation in Romania and France.
